David Randall-Bodman, Senior Pastor
David was called to serve Bethel in 2003. Prior to his arrival in Oregon, he served churches in Boulder, Colorado and Harrisonburg, Virginia. David has encouraged the Bethel congregation to embrace a theology of grace. He is committed to the Still Speaking Initiative’s core message: “no matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!”
David’s wife, Jeanne, serves as Director of Educational Ministries and Youth at Cedar Hills UCC. Jeanne and David live in the community with their two sons, Caleb and Jacob.
Hannah Barber, Church School Facilitator
Hannah relocated to Beaverton from Washington approximately five years ago. In addition to her position as a Church school facilitator at Bethel, she has worked in food service-waitressing and hosting. She also plans to shift her energy and passion toward her gift as an artist. Hannah also serves as a nanny two days a week. Hannah grew up in Olympia, Washington. She was an active member of the UCC church there. She enjoyed the youth group and as a senior, she helped coordinate a Vacation Bible school. Bethel seemed like a good fit. Hannah and her fiancé, Mark, plan to be married in July 2008.
Stephen Galván, Director of Music Ministry
In addition to his position at Bethel, Steve also serves as the Artistic Director of ISing Community Choir, teaches private voice and piano students in his home studio, and resurrects the dead (computers, that is) at Southridge High School.
Kurt Grangow, Youth Leader
Kurt Granzow is the leader of Bethel's youth program, 4:12.
Viji Ramanathan, Office Coordinator
Viji joined us last fall to work in the office and was formally hired after the first of the year. She brings strong computer and administrative skills. Viji is a native of India and her faith tradition is Hinduism. Viji’s quiet, gentle presence is a gift to our fast paced and oftentimes chaotic church office.
Viji lives in the community with her husband and two children. Her daughter, Jahnavi, is gifted in the classical Indian dance form, Bharatnatyam, and joined us for the Music Sundays.
Yvonne Yang, Accompanist/Pianist
Yvonne accompanies the Chancel Choir during rehearsals and on Sunday mornings, and shares her gifts on the piano with us during worship services. Yvonne has degrees in Piano Performance and Computer Engineering. She has perfect pitch (which comes in handy in matching the passing train’s whistle) and impeccable timing (which is invaluable when the musicians can’t get it down). Unfortunately for the world of music, Yvonne masquerades as a board engineering manager at Intel during the day.
