Our Youth Sunday service is a special day in our calendar where we honor our graduating seniors and lift up the achievements of our kids for the school year. Our youth take the lead in the service, crafting our theme, choosing our music, sharing liturgy and sermon pieces with the congregation. This year, our theme “Good Fruit” encourages us to think about what it truly means to follow Jesus and how our actions in addition to our words produce “good fruit.”

The United Church of Christ (UCC) honors Pentecost as a celebration of the Holy Spirit, and as the "birthday of the Church". Pentecost is a day to commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the early followers of Jesus, and the establishment of the church. The first Pentecost took place a few weeks after Jesus' death and resurrection, and is described in the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible's New Testament.

Traditionally, the church paraments (the cloths decorating the sanctuary) are red, the pastor wears red vestments (the stole), and the congregation wears red. All of that red reminds us that the Spirit has come to us, too, to empower us to tell and be the good news of Jesus.

We are wrapping up this season of Lent, with joyful, expansive hope! This all-generational worship will celebrate Christ’s resurrection with special music, prayers and liturgy. Our sanctuary will be flooded with color from flowers given in honor or memory of loved ones. Kids and youth will once again have an opportunity to Flower the Cross inside. In his economy, the true measure of abundance is fullness for the whole community, not just for some. Let us build the Kin-dom of God by drawing from jars of Hope, Purpose, Healing, Meaning, Vision, and Grace for all people.”

For the season of Epiphany, we will be using the worship series titled “Six Stone Jars” from Worship Design Studio to dive deeper into the meaning of true abundance:

“A miscalculation has occurred. The wedding guests have drunk all the wine before the party is over. At times life can feel like we’re “running out” of so much, and scarcity is shutting down the party. In these moments, we are invited to turn to the currency and economy of Jesus. In his economy, the true measure of abundance is fullness for the whole community, not just for some.
