Mad Hatter Unbirthday Party

Mad Hatter Unbirthday Party

Join us THIS Sunday, October 15, 2017 after service in the Fellowship Hall for our very own "Mad Hatter Unbirthday Party" You are invited to wear your favorite hat, be it zany and fun or chic and sophisticated... Anything goes!!! Sombrero, Stetson, or beret, flowered swim cap, or your worn old lucky Cubs baseball cap. Wear it to Bethel and tip your hat to all the fun. We'll be decorating hat shaped cakes and eating them too. To help everyone decorate the cakes, please bring an edible cake decoration/candy for everyone to share to. You can bring your items and drop them off in one of the baskets either in the Narthex or the Fellowship Hall starting this Sunday.

Thank You Habitat for Humanity Leaders!

Thank You Habitat for Humanity Leaders!

Mission and Outreach is proud to announce that Paul Griffo will be taking over Bethel’s role on the Habitat for Humanity’s Faith Relations Board. Thanks to Paul! We also want to thank Bob Leitner who leaves this position after many years of dedicated service. Bob has made it possible for many of us to have the great experience of helping to build a house and for many deserving families to have decent housing!

A Response to #Charlottesville Violence

A Response to #Charlottesville Violence

Many of us have been wondering how to respond to the brazen show of white supremacy (and the hatred that goes with it) that appeared in Charlottesville, VA last weekend. Such blatant hatred is abhorrent and runs counter to everything I believe as one who strives to live as Jesus did. White supremacists must be challenged and confronted. My first reaction was one of righteous indignation! If such bullies use violence to terrorize and dehumanize others, then use violence to stop them. Hit them back. Strike fear into them. Isn't brutality the only thing they understand?
